Dating Sites - The Way Out of Loneliness!

For some singles, getting to know someone through dating sites even ends in marriage. After the getting-to-know-you phase, the couple stands before the officiant or pastor in church and says "I do". Afterwards, many newlywed couples celebrate with a lavish party. On this day, the young couple is the center of attention. Several stories are told about how the path of getting to know each other unfolded. The first step is never left unmentioned. At the start, the flirting was free and an exciting moment. The first offers came in and a choice had to be made. In the end came the happiest day of their lives, and the couple was glad to have found the right partner. Slowly, over time, the topic of the "dating portal" fades into the background. Now everyday things take up the space. At some family celebrations, though, the topic keeps coming up, and people tell how it all began at square one.

In some cases, relatives and acquaintances are so taken by these stories that they sign up for one of the many dating sites themselves. Why shouldn't I get lucky too, if it has worked out for others? Since you don't have to invest any money yourself, it's worth a try. The worst that can happen is that you don't meet anyone through dating sites. That possibility is very slim, though, given the huge number of singles searching.

Dating Sites - The Black Sheep of the Industry

Several million singles worldwide have signed up with one of the many dating sites. Besides free dating sites, there are also paid ones. And it is precisely the paid portals that keep giving cause for criticism. Well-known consumer protection organizations have taken up the subject as well. Some TV reports have even covered the black sheep of the industry. One point of criticism is the contract term. If a subscription is taken out with an annual cancellation period, it is good for the dating site and bad for the single. If, for example, someone meets a person after a short time, they still have to keep paying until the end of the term even though they no longer use the dating portal at all. Another nasty practice shows up at dating sites where the contract can be cancelled monthly. The providers try to keep users tied to their dating portal for as long as possible. Some sites employ ICM writers (Internet contact market). These people create profiles that don't actually exist. The goal is to convert people from a free offer into a paid subscription. Often this is called a premium membership. The ICM writer also stays in touch with the single in order to keep them on the platform as long as possible. The only reason for this work is to generate as much profit as possible for the portal. Of course, they also think of their own wallet, because the better the ICM writer is, the more can be earned. Shortly before a real-life meeting, something always comes up. Because of the fake, the writer and the single will never meet in real life. Such practices play with the feelings of many people. These people don't care that the longings of lonely people are destroyed in one fell swoop.
